A ceremony for the handover of responsibilities took place at the headquarters of the Public Prosecution in Rabat, between Mr. Hicham Blawi and Mr. Moulay Hassan Daki. The event was attended by several judicial and administrative officials, where the efforts made by Mr. Moulay Hassan Daki during his tenure were highlighted, emphasizing the positive impact on the functioning of the Public Prosecution.
In his speech on the occasion, Hicham Blawi expressed his pride in the trust granted to him by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, by appointing him as the Head of the Public Prosecution. He confirmed his determination to continue working with the same enthusiasm and determination to consolidate the independence of the judiciary and strengthen the rule of law. Blawi added that his mission would focus on defending the rights and freedoms of individuals, alongside preserving the nation’s constants.
Blawi also expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the significant contributions made by his predecessor, Moulay Hassan Daki, in serving justice and the judiciary, praising his distinguished professional career, marked by great dedication and loyalty to his national duty.
In conclusion, Blawi emphasized his commitment to enhancing the performance of the Public Prosecution, through opening up to various stakeholders and developing work mechanisms that would foster trust in the institution and reinforce the principles of good governance. He clarified that the goal was to raise performance standards and activate the role of the Public Prosecution in protecting rights and freedoms, in addition to strengthening the rule of law in service of the citizens.
His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Judicial Authority, had issued a royal decree appointing Hicham Blawi as the Attorney General at the Court of Cassation and Head of the Public Prosecution, a step reflecting His Majesty’s great trust in the development of the judicial system in the Kingdom.
