Trump: Saudi Arabia Will Soon Join the Abraham Accords

Riyadh – U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Tuesday that Saudi Arabia will soon join the Abraham Accords, adding that it will do so “in its own time.”

In an extensive speech before the Saudi-U.S. Investment Forum, Trump expressed his pride and delight in his “historic” visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Trump described his return to the Kingdom as a “great honor,” emphasizing the significant transformation Saudi Arabia is undergoing compared to his first visit.

Trump praised the substantial changes taking place in the Middle East, attributing them to the “amazing vision” of its leaders. He noted that the Gulf states have demonstrated the region’s safety and its commitment to fostering creativity, harmony, and progress, as well as its ability to confront terrorism and extremism.

The U.S. President affirmed his intention to strengthen his country’s relations with Saudi Arabia, stressing that U.S.-Saudi relations are “stronger today than ever before and will remain so.”

Regarding the Abraham Accords, Trump said that Saudi Arabia’s accession would mark “a very special day in the Middle East.” He expressed his hope that Saudi Arabia would soon sign a normalization agreement with Israel, adding, “But you will do that in your own time.”

In his speech, Trump also addressed several regional and international issues, including the war in Gaza, where he asserted that “the people of Gaza deserve a better future.” He expressed his determination to bring more hostages back from Gaza and criticized the way the inhabitants are being treated.

On Syria, Trump mentioned that “Syria has suffered greatly” and that he has taken steps to restore normal relations with the country. He announced the lifting of sanctions on Syria and a planned meeting between the U.S. and Syrian foreign ministers, expressing his hope for the success of the new Syrian government.

Economically, Trump emphasized the flourishing state of the U.S. economy, stating that “the days of the Biden administration are over.” He highlighted the attraction of over $10 trillion in investments to the United States, rising employment rates, positive financial market indicators, declining energy and food prices, and the creation of approximately half a million jobs.

Concerning China, the U.S. President revealed that his administration has reached an “important agreement” with China, with ongoing discussions to finalize some details. He indicated that China has decided to open up to the United States in trade and all other areas.

Regarding the Russia-Ukraine war, Trump expressed his hope that the talks between Ukraine and Russia would yield positive results. He stressed the commitment to ending the bloodshed between the two countries and disclosed that the U.S. Secretary of State would attend the talks in Turkey.

On Iran, Trump stated his desire to reach an agreement with Tehran, adding that if Iran refuses to reach a deal, the U.S. will have no option but to exert maximum pressure. He emphasized his intention to push for a complete halt to Iranian oil exports and that Iran must make a choice because the offer on the table will not last forever.
