Weather Alert: Strong Rainfall and Unstable Conditions Expected in Several Regions of Morocco

Rabat – The National Meteorology Directorate has issued a weather alert predicting unstable conditions and heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds in a number of regions across the Kingdom in the coming days.

First Alert (Orange Level):

  • Weather Phenomenon: Strong rainfall with a possibility of hail.
  • Affected Regions: Tiznit, Taroudant, Tata, Guelmim, and Sidi Ifni.
  • Start and End Time: From 11:39 PM on Monday, May 12, 2025, to 11:00 PM on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 (local time).
  • Expected Rainfall Amount: 75 to 85 mm/hour.

Second Alert (Orange Level):

  • Weather Phenomenon: Strong and thundery rainfall with potential hail.
  • Affected Regions: Azilal, Al Haouz, Chichaoua, and Ouarzazate.
  • Start and End Time: From 12:00 AM on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, to 8:00 AM on the same day (local time).
  • Expected Rainfall Amount: 20 to 30 mm.

Third Alert (Orange Level):

  • Weather Phenomenon: Strong and thundery rainfall.
  • Affected Regions: Guercif, Jerada, Taourirt, Oujda-Angad, Figuig, Boulemane, and Midelt.
  • Start and End Time: From 12:00 PM on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, to 7:00 AM on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 (local time).

The National Meteorology Directorate urges citizens in the affected areas to exercise caution and take the necessary precautions to cope with these unstable weather conditions.
