Rabat – Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, underscored the strong and distinguished relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Burundi.
This came during a joint press conference held with his Burundian counterpart in Rabat on Monday, on the sidelines of the first session of the Joint Cooperation Committee between the two countries. The session was co-chaired by the two ministers.
Minister Bourita revealed that 13 bilateral agreements were signed, aimed at strengthening the legal framework for cooperation between Morocco and Burundi and elevating the level of bilateral relations across various sectors.
He also commended the firm and clear stance of the Republic of Burundi in support of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Kingdom of Morocco over its entire territory, including the Sahara region. He reiterated Morocco’s support for the autonomy plan presented by the Kingdom, considering it the sole serious, realistic, and credible solution for settling this regional dispute.
