In a Meeting with Significant Diplomatic and Parliamentary Dimensions… Mauritanian President Receives Moroccan House Speaker in Nouakchott

Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani received the Speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami, on Friday at the Presidential Palace in Nouakchott. The meeting carried important diplomatic and parliamentary dimensions and came within the context of a renewed dynamic of cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, Talbi Alami conveyed greetings from His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the Mauritanian President, emphasizing the depth of relations between Rabat and Nouakchott. The encounter also served as an opportunity to exchange views on issues of mutual regional interest, amid ongoing transformations in the region.

The meeting was attended by Mohamed Bamba Meguett, President of the Mauritanian National Assembly; El Nany Ould Achrouga, Mauritania’s Minister and Chief of Staff at the Presidency; and Hamid Chabar, Morocco’s Ambassador to Nouakchott.

This visit by the Moroccan House Speaker coincides with the launch of the first session of the Mauritanian-Moroccan Economic Parliamentary Forum, which officially opened this morning in the Mauritanian capital. The forum is expected to serve as a new platform for strengthening bilateral partnership in both legislative and economic dimensions.
