In an exclusive press statement, Mr. Anas Janfour, Chief Administrator at Al Ghassani Regional Hospital in Fes, revealed that the emergency department received several injured individuals around midnight following the collapse of a residential building in Hay Al-Hassani, Ben Debbab.
Janfour confirmed that seven injured people were admitted with varying degrees of severity. He noted that medical emergency teams, nursing staff, local authorities, and security forces were all on high alert to coordinate efforts and facilitate rescue operations.
“Thank God, things are under control for now. We mourn the victims of this tragedy and wish a speedy recovery to the injured,” Janfour said, pointing out that operations are still ongoing at the scene, with civil protection teams continuing their tireless search for more victims beneath the rubble.
He added that the collapsed building housed multiple families, and while the exact number of residents inside is still unknown, it is believed that some people remain trapped. All relevant teams are making great efforts in the rescue mission.
Regarding the condition of the injured, Janfour confirmed that all cases remain under continuous medical observation in the hospital’s emergency department. “So far, none of the cases require surgical intervention or transfer to the intensive care unit.”
In conclusion, Mr. Janfour expressed his hope for the safety of all those affected and emphasized that rescue efforts are ongoing. He added, “Once again, we pray for the victims and ask God to forgive them and grant them eternal peace.”
