The province of El Hajeb is preparing to establish a new industrial zone, in a move aimed at organizing economic activities and enhancing the region’s appeal to industrial investments.
According to multiple local sources, the project falls within the national strategy to upgrade industrial infrastructure in various provinces across the country. A formal meeting was held earlier this week at the El Hajeb district headquarters, chaired by the local authority (Pasha) and attended by representatives of various relevant departments. The session focused on selecting a suitable land plot to host the future industrial zone.
The meeting concluded, according to the same sources, with the selection of a 10-hectare plot of state-owned land located near the “Yaqout 3” project, along development road No. 350, which is 20 meters wide. The land has been classified as part of the strategic RS2 zone, which gives it priority for development and investment planning.
In alignment with this information, Wahid Hakim, President of the El Hajeb Municipal Council, stated in a media interview that the project represents a major development initiative for the city. He noted that it will create stable employment opportunities, reduce unemployment rates, and serve as a catalyst for attracting new investors to the region.
It is worth noting that Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Trade, previously stated during a parliamentary session that the government is supporting around 30 industrial zone projects across the Kingdom. These include a planned project in El Hajeb in partnership with the province of Ifrane, as well as another in the province of Boulemane.
