Several members of the Hassania Guercif cycling team sustained varying injuries on Saturday evening after their bus overturned near Moulay Yacoub, on the outskirts of Fez. The team was en route to Ouzzane to participate in the national cycling championship.
According to press sources, the accident occurred when one of the bus’s tires exploded, causing the driver to lose control and the bus to overturn. The injured were transported to Mohammed V Regional Hospital in Meknes to receive the necessary medical attention.
The same sources indicated that the bus was carrying 21 people, including 17 cyclists and three team officials, in addition to the driver.
