Announcement of the National Competition for the Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Meknes, April 25, 2025 – Within the framework of the 17th edition of the International Agricultural Fair in Morocco, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, in cooperation with the Interprofessional Federation of Olive Oil “INTERPROLIVE”, organized the 15th National Competition for the selection of the best producers of extra virgin olive oil for the 2024/2025 agricultural season.

This competition reflects the importance that the “Green Generation 2020-2030” strategy places on improving the quality of agricultural products, including olive oil, in accordance with the standards adopted by the International Olive Council.

The competition witnessed wide participation from olive oil producers from various regions of the Kingdom, with 57 candidates from six regions. Following a rigorous evaluation, twelve outstanding olive oil brands were selected, distributed across four main categories according to their fruitiness: intense, medium, light, and mature. Within each category, three prizes were awarded to the top three products.

The results of the 15th National Competition for the Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil are as follows:

Intense Green Fruity Olive Oil Category

  • 1st Prize: OLIVEINVEST Company (Fez-Meknes region)
  • 2nd Prize: OLEA CAPITAL Company (Fez-Meknes region)
  • 3rd Prize: Mr. Laamarti Bousserhan (Marrakech-Safi region)

Medium Green Fruity Olive Oil Category

  • 1st Prize: Al-Ghadir Al-Ahmar Cooperative (Marrakech-Safi region)
  • 2nd Prize: Tڭmat Olive Press (Marrakech-Safi region)
  • 3rd Prize: Mr. Said El Alali (Marrakech-Safi region)

Light Green Fruity Olive Oil Category

  • 1st Prize: Mr. Mohamed El Meslouhi (Marrakech-Safi region)
  • 2nd Prize: Mr. Abdelouafi Mreita (Marrakech-Safi region)
  • 3rd Prize: Mr. Abdelmajid Dhafer (Marrakech-Safi region)

Mature Fruity Olive Oil Category

  • 1st Prize: Al-Hamidi Al-Baraka Press (Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region)
  • 2nd Prize: EL BACHA OLIVE OIL Company (Marrakech-Safi region)
  • 3rd Prize: Ben Mellouk Press (Marrakech-Safi region)

These results reflect the diversity and high quality of Moroccan olive oil and underscore the efforts made by producers to preserve and develop this national heritage.
