Ifrane – April 25, 2025 – As part of its celebratory program for World Immunization Week, and under the supervision of the Regional Directorate of Health and Social Protection of Fez-Meknes, the Delegation of Health and Social Protection in Ifrane organized an important coordination meeting on Friday, April 25, 2025, at the 20 August Hospital in Azrou. The meeting was chaired by the Regional Delegate, Dr. Abdelatif El Asri, and was attended by health program facilitators, head nurses of primary healthcare centers, and nurses in charge of the National Immunization Program.
This meeting coincides with the celebration of World Immunization Week, organized by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection at the national level in parallel with countries worldwide. The aim of this celebration is to strengthen national efforts aimed at raising immunization rates and preserving the significant health gains achieved in this area.
The meeting commenced with an opening address by the Regional Delegate, who commended the significant efforts and great sacrifices made by health workers in the province. He praised the high spirit of commitment and responsibility they have demonstrated in ensuring the success of various immunization programs, despite the challenges and field difficulties they face.
The meeting also provided an important opportunity to present and discuss the results achieved to date within the framework of the National Immunization Program at the provincial level. During the meeting, strengths and challenges facing some health centers were identified, with the aim of working together to overcome these challenges and improve health indicators related to vaccination.
During this interactive meeting, emphasis was placed on a range of awareness-raising activities and programs being organized at the level of each health center in the province. These programs aim to educate citizens about the importance of vaccination and its health and social benefits, and to refute rumors and misinformation circulating about it. Attendees stressed the need to adopt new and more effective strategies to reach the population, through the organization of direct outreach campaigns, awareness workshops for parents, as well as the active involvement of civil society and local volunteers, and the use of audio-visual means to disseminate awareness messages more widely and effectively.
The meeting was characterized by an atmosphere of constructive discussion and the exchange of experiences and expertise among various stakeholders in the health sector in the province. This positive interaction will undoubtedly contribute to supporting the efforts of all those involved in achieving ideal immunization coverage rates, thereby ensuring the protection of the health of individuals and society as a whole.
