The Moroccan national muay thai team has emerged victorious at the African Muay Thai Championship, held in Tripoli from April 15th to 18th, 2025. The Moroccan athletes secured a remarkable total of 14 medals, including an impressive 11 gold medals.
This triumph marks the national team’s fourth consecutive continental title. In addition to their gold haul, the Moroccan squad also claimed 3 silver medals.
The gold medals for Morocco were won by Youssef Akhlouf (-48 kg/U23), Ayoub Atoudan (-51 kg/U23), Yahya Sobhi (-57 kg/elite), Mohamed Yassine Mahssoun (-67 kg/U23), Kalthoum Akhlouf (-48 kg/U23), Hamza Rachid (-71 kg/elite), Abdellah Saâdi (-63.5 kg/elite), Salma Maghar (-67 kg/U23), Hamza Sabri (-75 kg/elite), Soufiane Benhammou (-71 kg/U23), and Elyas Salas (-86 kg/U23).
On the other hand, Souhaib Afqir (-48 kg/U23), Yahya El Marsi (-63 kg/elite), and Doaa Akhlouf (-60 kg/U23) brought home the silver medals for Morocco.
