On Monday, April 7, 2025, the Meknes province marked World Health Day with an official ceremony held at the provincial headquarters. The event was attended by the provincial governor, the president of the Fes-Meknes Regional Council, several local officials, mayors, and both civil and military personalities.
During the event, the keys to six fully equipped ambulances were handed over to six rural municipalities as part of the “Support for Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition” program under the National Initiative for Human Development. The total cost of this project exceeded 2.21 million dirhams.
The municipalities benefiting from this initiative include: Moulay Idriss Zerhoun, Boufkrane, Al-Maghasein, Dar Umm Sultan, Volubilis, and Mahdia. Additionally, plans were announced for the purchase of two more ambulances in 2025 for the municipalities of Al-Dakhisa and Oued Al-Jadida, which currently lack this essential service.
In line with efforts to enhance healthcare infrastructure in rural areas, the provincial governor, accompanied by the regional health delegate and several medical staff members, inaugurated the rural health center in Maabda in the municipality of Mahdia. This facility will help bring medical services closer to the local population.
On the sidelines of these activities, the official launch of the national awareness campaign on the importance of health monitoring took place within the Meknes province, in coordination with other regions, to promote a culture of prevention and improve access to basic healthcare services.
