Occupied Jerusalem – Prominent Palestinian figures from various fields have expressed their deep appreciation for the efforts and pivotal role played by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, and the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Al-Sharif Agency, the committee’s executive arm, in supporting the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and their just cause.
These figures, representing a wide spectrum of political, academic, and social activists, lauded the humanitarian initiatives and comprehensive development projects led by Morocco under the noble directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. These initiatives aim to alleviate the suffering endured by Palestinians in Al-Quds Al-Sharif, the besieged Gaza Strip, and the West Bank.
In this context, Mrs. Safa Nasser Eddin, Head of the Moroccan Studies Chair at Al-Quds University, emphasized the vital role played by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Al-Sharif Agency, under the chairmanship of His Majesty the King, in supporting the Holy City, its residents, and the Palestinian cause in general. She pointed out that this support manifests in multiple ways, including the preservation of the cultural heritage and Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem through sustainable economic, social, and cultural projects.
She also highlighted the valuable assistance provided by the Agency to Al-Quds University, both through allocating scholarships for students and contributing to the renovation and expansion of the university campus to accommodate a larger number of students. Mrs. Nasser Eddin recalled the remarkable achievement made by Morocco recently, amidst the crisis, in delivering urgent humanitarian and medical aid to the Gaza Strip via land, which was met with widespread appreciation from the residents of the Strip.
For his part, Mr. Fadl Tahboub, a member of the Palestinian National Council, praised the gracious care bestowed by His Majesty King Mohammed VI upon the Holy City of Jerusalem and the Palestinian cause in general, stressing that this steadfast position is deeply appreciated and respected by the Palestinian people. He added that Morocco, thanks to its standing and significant presence at regional and international levels, is a strong supporter of Palestine and its people, commending the humanitarian and medical assistance provided by the Kingdom to the Gaza Strip during the recent crisis.
Mr. Tahboub emphasized the central role of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Al-Sharif Agency in strengthening the resilience of Jerusalemites and preserving the cultural and civilizational identity of the Holy City through its diverse projects and initiatives that cover various humanitarian, social, and economic fields, as well as its continuous support for Palestinian institutions in Jerusalem.
In turn, Dr. Mahmoud Alyan, the Administrative Director of the Palestine Red Crescent Society Hospital in Jerusalem, highlighted the significant role played by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Al-Sharif Agency, under royal directives, in supporting the health and medical sector in Jerusalem. He pointed out that the Agency was behind the launch of the first two ambulances for the Palestine Red Crescent Society in the city, in addition to equipping two field hospitals.
Dr. Alyan commended the continuous communication between the Agency and the Jerusalem Paramedics Network, which includes six hospitals in the city, and its commitment to providing these institutions with essential medical equipment and supplies, as well as offering training and development programs for Palestinian medical professionals in Morocco.
Furthermore, academic and political analyst Dr. Amjad Shehab emphasized the continuous and permanent nature of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Al-Sharif Agency’s work in the Holy City. He noted that the Agency plays a distinguished role at various times, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, affirming that this constant presence significantly contributes to strengthening the steadfastness of Jerusalemites in the face of challenges.
Dr. Shehab stressed that the Moroccan role in Jerusalem is vital, effective, and extremely necessary, especially during this critical period witnessing an escalation in the Judaization of the city. He explained that the importance of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Al-Sharif Agency’s work lies in its comprehensiveness across multiple and diverse fields, including the social, health, and education sectors, in addition to the restoration of numerous historical places and sites in Jerusalem aimed at preserving the city’s authentic cultural identity.
Dr. Shehab also pointed out that the initiatives and projects of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Al-Sharif Agency are not limited to Jerusalem alone but extend to other Palestinian areas, including the Gaza Strip.
