Security Guard in Kenitra Forced to Use Service Weapon to Repel Serious Attack

Kenitra – A security guard working for the Kenitra Security Directorate was compelled to use his service weapon on Thursday afternoon, April 10th, during a security intervention to apprehend a 41-year-old individual. The man was reportedly in an abnormal state and exhibiting strong aggression, posing a serious and dangerous threat to police officers using a bladed weapon.

According to initial investigation data, a police patrol went to the suspect’s residence following an ongoing search warrant for his involvement in a case related to the defacement of public facilities and the creation of graffiti on them. Upon attempting to arrest him, the patrol officers were met with violent resistance. The individual allegedly assaulted two police officers, causing them injuries with a bladed weapon, which necessitated the security guard’s use of his service weapon, firing a shot that struck the individual.

An ambulance was immediately dispatched to transport the injured suspect to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and passed away. Simultaneously, the injured police officers were placed under medical observation while awaiting the completion of the judicial investigation procedures, which are being supervised by the competent Public Prosecutor’s Office, to determine all the circumstances and details of this case.

This incident highlights the challenges faced by law enforcement officers during their interventions to enforce the law, particularly when dealing with individuals in abnormal states or wielding bladed weapons. The results of the investigation are expected to clarify the suspect’s condition, the motives behind his violent resistance against the security forces, and ultimately lead to the determination of responsibilities and the implementation of the necessary legal measures.
