On Friday, April 4, 2025, the judicial police forces under the Inezgane security district successfully arrested a 45-year-old man suspected of being involved in the forgery of Moroccan banknotes and their attempted circulation in the market.
The suspect was apprehended in the district of Dcheira while caught in the act of trying to circulate a batch of counterfeit currency. A subsequent search of his residence led to the seizure of a quantity of forged banknotes in various denominations that were still in preparation, in addition to a color printer and copier, a range of office supplies, and several electronic devices suspected to have been used in carrying out these illegal acts.
The suspect was placed in police custody under the supervision of the competent public prosecution, as investigations continue to uncover any potential accomplices and fully determine the extent of the criminal network.
This operation is part of the ongoing efforts by Morocco’s national security services to combat financial crimes and ensure the safety and integrity of the country’s economic transactions.
