Moroccan Minister of Agriculture Visits Meknes, El Hajeb, and Ifrane to Assess Agricultural Season Impact

In an exclusive report, Fes News reveals that the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests, Mr. Ahmed Bouari, conducted a field visit to the Meknes prefecture and the provinces of El Hajeb and Ifrane. The visit aimed to monitor the progress of the agricultural season and evaluate the impact of recent rainfall on pastures and crops, particularly cereals, oilseeds, and fruit trees.

The visit served as an opportunity for direct communication with farmers and livestock breeders. During the visit, the minister discussed the current state of the agricultural season, provided necessary support services to farmers, and took steps to ensure the sustainability of the sector and strengthen rural economies.

According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture, recent rains have had a positive effect on fall crops in the Fes-Meknes region, with 40% of the cultivated areas classified as in good condition and 49% in moderate condition. This improvement points to better yields than initially expected, instilling renewed hope after a period of uncertainty.

Minister Bouari expressed great optimism about the recent improvements in the region, highlighting that the recent rains, following years of drought, have restored hope for better agricultural conditions. He confirmed that both fall and spring crops are in good shape, and he remains hopeful for a successful farming season, both for cereals and spring agriculture. Additionally, he encouraged farmers to start the season well and to monitor livestock health to support long-term agricultural sustainability.
