Tazaa’s Chlouha Neighborhood: Residents Struggle Amid Piles of Garbage and Foul Odors Threatening Their Health

Residents of the “Chlouha” neighborhood in Taza are living in harsh environmental and health conditions due to the presence of a garbage dump on Sibtah Street in the Douar Chlouha area. The massive piles of waste in this dump have become a constant source of distress for the local population, who are forced to endure the unpleasant odors emanating from it continuously.

The dump, located not far from residential homes, suffers from unorganized waste accumulation, causing significant inconvenience for residents who have no way to rid themselves of this daily burden. The foul-smelling air, worsened by the wind, spreads throughout the area, making life unbearable for the community.

According to local sources, the health situation in the area has deteriorated significantly due to pollution from the garbage dump. Several children have reportedly suffered from respiratory diseases such as asthma and shortness of breath, in addition to allergies caused by inhaling the polluted air from the rotting household waste.

In response to this ongoing struggle, the residents have called for the closure of the dump or its relocation to an area far from residential neighborhoods to protect their health and safety. They have stressed the urgent need for the relevant authorities to intervene and find a permanent solution to this issue, which is negatively impacting the quality of life in the area.

Given the situation, the question remains: when will the local authorities in Taza act to close this dump and find alternative solutions to ensure a healthy and safe environment for the residents?
