As part of Ramadan activities aimed at promoting religious and educational values, the Regional Office of the Social Solidarity Association for Prison Staff in the Fes-Meknes region organized the regional qualifiers for a Quran recitation competition on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Al-Ridha Mosque in Fes.

The event, held in coordination with the Regional Delegation for Islamic Affairs, saw the participation of children of prison staff from institutions across the region. A specialized jury supervised the competition, evaluating participants based on tajweed rules and recitation accuracy.

The event began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by welcoming speeches from association members, emphasizing the importance of instilling Quranic values in young generations. They also expressed their gratitude to Dr. Mohamed Saleh Tamek, the association’s president, for his continuous support of such meaningful initiatives.

After an intense competition, Sarah A’arab, daughter of Mohamed A’arab from Toulal 1 Prison in Meknes, secured first place. Jidaa Marzouk, daughter of Zouhair Marzouk from Ras El Ma Prison in Fes, earned second place. Both winners will now represent the Fes-Meknes region in the national competition to be held by the association’s central office in Rabat.
