Rabat: Signing of an Agreement for the Implementation of the National Program to Train Children in Digital Skills and AI

Rabat – A framework partnership agreement was signed on Saturday in Rabat for the implementation of the national program to train children in digital skills and artificial intelligence (AI).

The agreement was signed by the Minister of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, the Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, the Delegate Minister to the Minister of Economy and Finance, in charge of the Budget, Fouzi Lekjaa, as well as the representative of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), Ibtissam Khamlichi.

Aligned with the national strategy “Morocco Digital 2030,” which places the development of young people’s digital skills at the heart of its priorities, this agreement aims to foster the emergence of a dynamic digital ecosystem in Morocco and to train a new generation proficient in future technologies.

Under this agreement, the signatory parties commit to enhancing access to digital knowledge and artificial intelligence for all segments of society, introducing young people to technological tools and AI-related concepts from an early age.

The agreement also seeks to promote responsible and secure use of digital technologies and AI by raising children’s awareness of best practices and the ethics of new technologies. This will strengthen digital inclusion, ensure equal access to digital tools, and reduce the technological divide.

In a statement to the press, Ms. Seghrouchni emphasized that the signing of this agreement is in line with the “Morocco Digital 2030” strategy, a major initiative dedicated to building skills in digital and AI fields.

She explained that the goal of this agreement is to raise children’s awareness of digital technologies and the use of social media, noting that the first phase of this national program targets children aged 8 to 14, while the second phase will focus on those aged 15 to 18.

The minister also stressed the importance of providing all children, whether in urban or rural areas, with the opportunity to explore artificial intelligence and digital technologies in general. She noted that this program will benefit approximately 200,000 children nationwide.

To ensure the success of this national program, the concerned parties commit to implementing several cooperative measures, including the creation of dedicated training programs in digital technologies and AI, the organization of training sessions, the promotion of emerging technologies, as well as the enhancement of digital inclusion initiatives and the adaptation of these programs to the needs of young people.

The program will be implemented in twelve youth centers, covering all twelve regions of Morocco, with specific training for trainers to gradually expand the program nationwide and enable more young people to access it.
