Earthquake Hits Boulemane Province, Residents of Sidi Boutayeb Feel the Tremor

Boulemane Province experienced a mild surface earthquake on Friday, February 28, 2025, with the tremor recorded in the Sidi Boutayeb commune at exactly 7:57 PM.

Nasser Jabour, Director of the National Institute of Geophysics, confirmed in a press statement that the earthquake had a magnitude of 2.1 on the Richter scale and occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers beneath the surface.

Several residents took to social media, particularly Facebook, to report feeling the tremor. However, no material damage or casualties have been reported so far.
