Meknes prepares to host the 17th edition of the International Agricultural Exhibition in Morocco

Preparations for the 17th edition of the International Agricultural Exhibition in Morocco, to be held under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in Meknes, are continuing. In this context, Abdelghani Sabbar, Governor of Meknes, chaired a preparatory meeting on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, to discuss the logistical and organizational arrangements for this major agricultural event.

During the meeting, Kamal Haidan, Regional Director of Agriculture for Fes Meknes and acting delegate of the fair, gave a comprehensive presentation on the new edition of the event, reviewing its main developments and objectives, as well as the measures adopted to ensure a successful organization that reflects Meknes’ position as a strategic agricultural hub.

The Meknes governor stressed the importance of this event, which represents an opportunity to enhance cooperation between actors in the agricultural sector, exchange expertise and experiences, and showcase the latest technologies and products, and stressed the need to mobilize all stakeholders to ensure a suitable environment to receive exhibitors and visitors, noting that the exhibition is an economic and developmental gain for the region.

In the context of the preparations, several specialized committees have been formed to oversee various organizational aspects, including committees concerned with infrastructure, signage, cleanliness, decoration, health prevention, and parallel activities, with the aim of providing an appropriate atmosphere that reflects the importance of this international event.

This year’s edition is expected to enjoy wide participation, as France will be the guest of honor of the event, in light of major challenges faced by the agricultural sector, especially climate change and the scarcity of water resources, making the exhibition a platform to search for innovative solutions that enhance the sustainability of agricultural production and achieve food security.
