Compulsory health coverage has not reached segments of the Moroccan population… Health Minister under scrutiny

Parliamentarian Khadija Hajoubi addressed a question to the Minister of Health and Social Protection, inquiring about the reasons that led to a segment of citizens not benefiting from compulsory health coverage, despite the importance of this service in promoting the right to health care for all segments of society.

In her question, Hajoubi pointed out that certain categories of citizens, whether in urban or rural areas, are still denied access to this health system, which aims to provide comprehensive health coverage for all citizens, and explained that this exclusion contributes to deepening social and health disparities, and increases the burden on families who have difficulty covering treatment expenses.

The parliamentarian highlighted that compulsory health coverage is one of the basic rights guaranteed by the state to citizens, and is an essential step towards improving the quality of health care and promoting social justice, adding that this situation requires the ministry to take urgent measures to ensure that everyone benefits from this service, including excluded groups.

Hajoubi called for clarifying the measures the ministry intends to take to address this issue and ensure that all citizens benefit from compulsory health coverage, stressing the need to find sustainable solutions that enhance the comprehensiveness of the national health system.
