Judicial Investigation Opened in Marrakech to Uncover Corruption and Prostitution Mediation Network

The police services in the Marrakech security district opened a judicial investigation on Tuesday afternoon, February 11, under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, to investigate a series of criminal acts attributed to seven individuals aged between 25 and 43, including four women. They are suspected of involvement in a case related to establishing a corruption hub and mediating prostitution.

The National Security’s information monitoring services had detected advertisements posted on a social media page, managed from one of the sub-Saharan African countries, offering sexual services in the city of Marrakech. Intensive investigations and inquiries led to the identification and arrest of the suspects inside an apartment in Marrakech.

The search operation resulted in the seizure of medical supplies and a sum of money suspected to be proceeds from this criminal activity. The suspects have been placed under police custody pending the ongoing judicial investigation supervised by the competent public prosecutor’s office, aimed at determining all the criminal acts attributed to them.

Investigations and inquiries continue to arrest other participants and contributors to this criminal network, as part of ongoing efforts to combat corruption and crimes related to prostitution in the region.
