Israel Releases 183 Palestinian Prisoners on Saturday

The Israeli Prison Services confirmed on Saturday the release of 183 Palestinian prisoners, who were sent to East Jerusalem, the occupied West Bank, and Gaza. This marks the fifth prisoner exchange under the ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel.

In a statement, the Israeli authorities said, “183 terrorists were transferred from several prisons across the country” before their release. This number aligns with the figure provided the previous day by the Palestinian NGO, the Prisoners’ Club, which handles prisoner-related issues.

Among those released were Gazans, part of the total 183 prisoners freed by Israel on Saturday. Many of them had been arrested following the October 7, 2023 attack. This exchange is part of ongoing efforts to maintain the ceasefire and address humanitarian concerns related to the conflict.
