The recent discontent expressed by the Wali of the Fes-Meknes region, Mohaeddine El Jamai, over the deteriorating healthcare services has sparked significant action, leading to the announcement by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection about the launch of 14 newly renovated health facilities across the region.
Following instructions from the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Amine El Tehrawi, the Regional Director of Health and Social Protection in Fes-Meknes, Salima Saas, will officially inaugurate these health institutions on February 4, 2025. The ceremony will take place at the Bab Zitouna Health Center in Taza at 16:00, in the presence of the Governor of Taza Province, Mustafa Al-Mazza.
This initiative marks the first step in a broad plan to reform the healthcare sector in the region. Previously, the Wali had expressed dissatisfaction with the level of healthcare services, calling for radical changes to restore efficiency and improve the services provided to the citizens.
This move represents a significant shift in the ministry’s strategy to enhance healthcare infrastructure and reduce regional disparities in access to medical care. The initiative focuses on equipping healthcare facilities, improving primary healthcare services, and ensuring the availability of modern equipment and qualified human resources.
This development is expected to be the beginning of a series of reforms in the healthcare sector in Fes-Meknes, in response to growing pressures to improve services and meet the healthcare needs of the population, in line with royal directives aimed at reforming the healthcare system and promoting decentralization.
