Last week, the Provincial Delegation of Health and Social Protection in Fes organized a multidisciplinary medical caravan for the residents of Oulad Tayeb at the Level 2 Rural Health Center. This initiative was part of the national campaign for vaccination review and catch-up, conducted in partnership with the National Initiative for Human Development and the Public Health Support Association, in coordination with local authorities and under the supervision of the Regional Directorate of Health and Social Protection in the Fes-Meknes region.
The caravan mobilized a specialized medical and nursing team and provided medical and logistical equipment, enabling the delivery of diverse healthcare services to the local population. A total of 505 individuals benefited from various medical examinations, including 251 general medical consultations, 34 ultrasound screenings for women, and 122 diabetes screenings. Additionally, 80 breast cancer screenings and 80 cervical cancer screenings were conducted. The initiative also included 278 rapid HIV screenings, 196 screenings for hepatitis C, and 100 syphilis tests. Furthermore, children received vaccinations against targeted diseases under the national immunization program, including 10 cases of measles vaccination.
As part of this initiative, free medications were distributed based on medical prescriptions, bringing the total number of health services provided to 1,395. The caravan also featured awareness and education sessions on measles and the importance of vaccination, as well as other diseases covered by the national vaccination program. These sessions were led by healthcare professionals from the Provincial Delegation of Health and Social Protection in Fes, alongside members of the Public Health Support Association, aiming to raise health awareness and encourage community participation in preventive healthcare efforts.
This medical caravan aligns with ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare services in rural areas and improve healthcare standards, in line with the national strategy to expand vaccination coverage and ensure equitable access to essential health services.
