“Fes Turns into a City of Stray Dogs… A Growing Threat to Residents, and the Municipality in the Hot Seat!”

The city of Fes is witnessing a concerning situation due to the increasing spread of stray dogs, posing a direct threat to public safety. Reports of repeated attacks have been recorded, the latest of which resulted in serious injuries among children and the elderly. This alarming situation has instilled fear in several neighborhoods and residential areas, sparking widespread frustration among residents who demand urgent intervention from local authorities.

Despite the severity of the issue, the Fes Municipality has yet to take decisive action, leaving residents to suffer in the absence of effective solutions. Local sources confirm that certain areas are overrun by dozens of stray dogs roaming freely, particularly during nighttime and early morning hours, creating a constant danger for pedestrians.

While other Moroccan cities have adopted more organized solutions to address this crisis, the Fes Municipality has overlooked previous proposals from animal welfare associations. These proposals included humane and sustainable alternatives, such as vaccination, sterilization programs, and dedicated shelters. However, these associations have been ignored and excluded from any practical plans to resolve the issue.

Given this situation, residents are left wondering: Will the Fes Municipality take action before more serious incidents occur? Or will this issue remain neglected as daily risks continue to rise?
