The Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatima Zahra Amour, stated that tourists visiting the city of Fes only spend one night due to the lack of recreational activities.
In response to questions from parliamentary advisors on Tuesday in the House of Advisors, Amour emphasized that accommodation alone is not sufficient to establish a tourist destination; rather, an integrated system is needed that includes lodging, services, and entertainment to encourage tourists to extend their stay.
The tourism minister called for investment in the tourism sector across various regions of the kingdom to achieve the goal of reaching 26 million tourists by 2030.
She further explained that it is not feasible to rely on just two or three destinations to attract foreign tourists; instead, tourism projects should encompass all regions of the kingdom.
