Diagnostic Medical Caravan in Sefrou: A Step Towards Integrating Students with Disabilities

The regional directorate of education and training in Sefrou, under the supervision of the regional academy for education and training in the Fes-Meknes region, in partnership with the Hope Return Association for Cochlear Implant Users, organized a multidisciplinary diagnostic medical caravan on Saturday, January 18, 2025. The caravan took place at the Al-Riyadh Inclusive School in the Al-Manzel district and aims to enable students with disabilities to obtain medical files that facilitate their integration into educational institutions.

Approximately 70 students benefited from this caravan, which provided various medical services including general medicine, physical rehabilitation, speech therapy, hearing correction, psychological support, and sensory-motor therapy. A total of 20 specialists and doctors participated in this initiative.

The activities of the caravan were supervised by the head of the inclusive education department at the academy and the educational inspector responsible for the project, along with the regional coordinator for structured program No. 13 and a team from the regional directorate.

It is worth noting that since the launch of the national inclusive education program, the regional directorate in Sefrou has rehabilitated and equipped 17 inclusive educational institutions in collaboration with the academy, the National Initiative for Human Development, and the Sefrou provincial council. Al-Riyadh Inclusive School is part of a network of inclusive institutions in the region that features an inclusive educational complex with three classrooms providing care, rehabilitation, and therapy services.

In conclusion, gratitude was expressed to all members of the Hope Return Association and Keys to Mercy Association for their valuable efforts in successfully implementing the national inclusive education program in the region. Thanks were also extended to the administrative and educational staff at Al-Riyadh Inclusive School and local and regional authorities for their organization and warm reception.
