Fes Launches Field Campaign to Clear Public Spaces and Enforce Urban Order

The main street of Allal Ben Abdallah in Fes witnessed a field campaign this morning, Monday, December 23, 2024, aimed at clearing public spaces. The operation targeted several commercial establishments, including the “KFC” restaurant, where chairs and tables occupying the sidewalks without authorization were removed. This initiative is part of a broader effort launched by the Wali of the Fes-Meknes region, Mouad El Jamai, to restore public order and regulate shared spaces.

The operation was carried out by a joint patrol of the National Police (Zone 2) and Auxiliary Forces, under the direct supervision of the head of the Ait Dal district. The campaign also involved issuing violation reports to motorbike owners who had parked on sidewalks in unauthorized areas, with the vehicles being towed to the municipal impound.

These actions are part of a wider initiative covering various areas of the city and region, addressing all forms of encroachment on public property. The goal of the campaign is to enhance order, ensure compliance with regulations, and maintain public safety while preserving the city’s aesthetic appeal.
