Lockheed Martin Explores Investment Opportunities in Morocco

High-ranking officials from the American defense company Lockheed Martin conducted an exploratory visit to several industrial facilities in Morocco to assess potential investment opportunities in the kingdom.

The visit was organized in collaboration with the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE) following the company’s participation in the Marrakech International Airshow. The delegation was led by Tim Cahill, Executive Vice President of Missiles and Fire Control, and Joseph Rank, Chief Executive Officer for Saudi Arabia and Africa.

The tour included visits to various aviation and defense facilities in Tangier, notably those of Eaton-Souriau, a key supplier in Lockheed Martin’s supply chain for over two decades.

Lockheed Martin’s partnership with Morocco dates back to 1974 when the company delivered its first C-130H transport aircraft to the Royal Moroccan Air Force. Since then, Morocco has become a key partner, receiving advanced systems such as F-16 fighter jets, Sikorsky helicopters, and radar systems.

Eaton-Souriau’s facilities in Tangier manufacture essential aviation components that support Lockheed Martin’s operations, contributing to the development of Morocco’s industrial base and workforce training in the aviation and defense sectors.

During its participation in the sixth edition of the Marrakech International Airshow, Lockheed Martin showcased a wide range of weaponry, including PAC-3 MSE interceptor missiles, HIMARS rocket launch systems, F-16 fighter jets, and C-130 Super Hercules multi-role aircraft.
