In a move that reflects its commitment to promoting Moroccan culture abroad, the General Consulate of the Kingdom of Morocco in New York, under the leadership of Consul General Abdelkader Jamoussi, hosted a distinguished cultural exhibition last week. This cultural event featured the participation of a number of Moroccan and American creators, filling the atmosphere with creativity and cultural exchange.
Among the attendees was writer and poet Yassine Adnan, who is currently visiting the United States, along with Moroccan poet Fatima Zahra Tesloui. This event opened the doors of the consulate to cultural and creative energies, reflecting its active role in showcasing Moroccan talents on the international stage.
During the meeting, Yassine Adnan emphasized the importance of the intellectual’s role in highlighting the Moroccan cultural diversity, dismantling preconceived notions, and creating bridges of civilizational communication between cultures. Consul Jamoussi also stressed the significance of this meeting, drawing inspiration from the directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI regarding the enhancement of Moroccans’ roles abroad.
The event also featured a number of Moroccan poets residing in America, including Fatima Zahra Tesloui, as well as American professor Alexander Ellison, who translated the novel “Hot Marrakech.”
This cultural event was not merely an artistic gathering but served as a platform for exchanging ideas and enhancing the Moroccan cultural identity abroad, contributing to strengthening the ties between Morocco and the American community.
