A video circulating on the “X” platform documents an assault on a traffic officer by a person carrying a sharp weapon in an incident allegedly taking place in the city of Meknes.
The viral footage shows a traffic officer aiming his service weapon at the lower extremities of an individual attempting to attack him with what appears to be a knife, in a scene that demonstrated the officer’s high level of self-restraint in handling the situation.
As several citizens gathered at the scene, one was heard urging the officer to shoot the attacker’s legs, while another attempted to deter the assailant by threatening him with a stone.
Despite these deterrence attempts, the knife-wielding individual persisted in his attempts to attack the officer, before fleeing upon the arrival of reinforcements from the anti-gang unit, which initiated a pursuit whose outcome was not shown in the video.
It should be noted that we have not been able to independently verify the location and time of this incident shown in the circulating footage.
