In a development reflecting the close relations between Palestine and Morocco, Palestinian Minister of Culture, Imad Hamdan, lauded the significant role played by Moroccan monarch King Mohammed VI in protecting the city of Jerusalem and preserving its cultural identity.
This praise came during a visit by Minister Hamdan to the headquarters of Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, on Sunday. In a working session with the agency’s acting director, Mohammed Salem Cherkaoui, and in the presence of the Palestinian Ambassador to Morocco, Jamal Al-Shobaki, Hamdan expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by King Mohammed VI in his capacity as Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee.
The Palestinian minister emphasized the importance of concerted efforts to strengthen the Palestinian narrative and protect the Arab and Islamic identity of the holy city. He also expressed the Palestinian Ministry of Culture’s desire to explore opportunities for cooperation and partnership with Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency in areas of mutual interest.
During his visit, Minister Hamdan toured the permanent exhibition of the Al-Quds Committee at the agency’s headquarters and listened to detailed presentations about the Moroccan Cultural Center in Jerusalem and the agency’s programs supporting major cultural activities and centers in the city.
The minister highlighted the importance of the role played by Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency in supporting the cultural and civilizational presence in Jerusalem, praising its tangible activity in the holy city.
This visit comes within the framework of enhancing cultural cooperation between Palestine and Morocco, and as a confirmation of the continued support provided by the Kingdom of Morocco to the Palestinian cause, especially with regard to preserving the Arab and Islamic identity of Jerusalem.
The visit is expected to open new horizons for cooperation between the two sides in the field of preserving the cultural and civilizational heritage of Jerusalem, and strengthening the resilience of its residents in the face of challenges confronting the holy city.
