Mohamed Mhidia, the Wali of the Casablanca-Settat region and governor of the Casablanca prefecture, is preparing to dismiss Nabila Rmili, president of the Casablanca Municipal Council, from her position as president of the Inter-Municipal Cooperation Institution “Al Baida”.
The Casablanca Wilaya has announced the opening of new candidacy applications for the position of president of the “Al Baida” Inter-Municipal Cooperation Institution council to the various presidents of member municipality councils.
The Wali justified his decision by noting Nabila Rmili’s absence in performing her duties as president of the inter-municipal cooperation institution for “Greater Casablanca”.
Mohamed Mhidia announced that applications would be received from Thursday, July 25, until Monday, July 29, 2024, at the headquarters of the Casablanca-Settat region prefecture, in the Local Communities Affairs Directorate, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
According to the announcement document reviewed by H24info, the application file must include a candidacy request submitted in person by the candidate, a certificate issued by the party to which the candidate belongs, a copy of the candidate’s national identity card, and two identity photos of the candidate.
The Wali’s decision comes after questions were raised about whether Rmili would keep both positions or resign from one of them.
It’s worth noting that the “Al Baida” Inter-Municipal Cooperation Institution aims to implement defined and voted development projects and programs that extend across the territories of various local communities in “Greater Casablanca”.
After successfully carrying out his mission in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region since his appointment in 2019, Mohamed Mhidia arrived in Casablanca in October 2023 with the goal of “cleaning up” the metropolis. This high-ranking government official is known for his formidable efficiency in managing territorial affairs.
