In the absence of the mayor : Fes districts unite to clean the city’s streets from Eid al-Adha waste

Fez – In the absence of a mayor, the districts of the city of Fez are coming together to take responsibility for cleaning the streets and alleys from the waste of Eid al-Adha. Eid al-Adha, an important religious and social occasion, is usually accompanied by the slaughter of sacrificial animals, which results in the generation of large quantities of waste that needs effective and rapid management.

From the early hours after the end of the slaughtering ceremony, cleaning teams were seen deployed in various neighborhoods of the city, with workers working diligently to remove the remnants of the sacrificial animals. In this context, cleaning companies played a vital role, utilizing their human and material resources to ensure that the task was carried out efficiently. The cleanup efforts were particularly concentrated in residential areas and markets where waste accumulates the most.

In a remarkable move, the head of Agdal district was seen personally motivating and tracking the cleaners. The president made field trips to inspect the workflow, giving direct instructions to the field teams, supporting and encouraging them to ensure that the task is completed in the shortest possible time and with the highest levels of quality. This active field presence reflects the districts’ commitment to providing the best services to the city’s residents, even in the absence of the mayor.

These efforts come as part of a comprehensive campaign to maintain the cleanliness of the environment and the safety of the city, where cleaning teams were equipped with the latest equipment and tools needed to collect waste and transport it to designated landfills. This campaign emphasizes the importance of cooperation and coordination between different stakeholders to ensure a clean and healthy environment.

The initiative was well-received by Fes residents, who expressed their great appreciation for the efforts of the cleaners and the districts. Many citizens praised the speed and efficiency with which the cleanup was carried out, noting that keeping the city clean reflects the spirit of cooperation and citizenship.

With Eid Al Adha over, the biggest challenge is to maintain these efforts and intensify them on upcoming occasions, to ensure that the city remains clean and sparkling. This task requires a permanent commitment from all stakeholders, to ensure the best environmental services are provided to the residents of Fez and make it a role model in maintaining cleanliness and public health.
