Aziz Akhannouch, the Prime Minister, categorically denied the possibility of increasing the price of “butane gas bottles” in the near future, emphasizing that this important social decision fundamentally depends on the success of the direct support system and agreement with the unions.
During a special interview with the public channels “Al Oula” and “Al Thania”, Akhannouch explained that the government’s decision regarding the increase in the price of “butane” largely depends on the results of dialogue with the unions, stressing that the government will not take any action before ensuring that it does not negatively affect the purchasing power of the middle class, emphasizing the need to wait for the results of the discussions before taking any action regarding price increases.
Some sources had circulated news about an upcoming government decision indicating an increase in the price of “butane” in the current April by 10 dirhams. However, Mustapha Baytass, the government’s spokesperson, denied these claims, confirming that the government has not officially discussed the matter so far.
