Elements of the judicial police in the Beni Makada security district in the city of Tangier, in the early hours of Tuesday morning, April 23, 2024, arrested three people between the ages of 36 and 27, one of them with a criminal record, for their suspected involvement in the possession and distribution of cocaine.
According to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security, the suspects were arrested in a light vehicle in the “Drissia” area in the city of Tangier, for their suspected involvement in drug trafficking.
The search operation resulted in the seizure of 1 kilogram and 42 grams of cocaine, as well as a white weapon and a sum of money suspected of being from the proceeds of this criminal activity.
A check of the suspects in the national security database revealed that one of them was the subject of several national search warrants issued by the judicial police services in the city of Tangier, for their suspected involvement in similar cases related to drug trafficking and psychotropic drugs.
The suspects were subjected to a judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent general prosecutor’s office.
The investigations aim to uncover all the circumstances and details of this case, as well as to identify the rest of the possible extensions of this criminal activity.
This operation confirms the keenness and vigilance of the National Security Services in combating the phenomenon of drug trafficking and organized crime, through strengthening coordination between the various security teams and intensifying field efforts. The operation also shows the successes achieved by the General Directorate of National Security in the field of combating drugs, thanks to the preventive security strategies and the precise investigations that are followed.
