Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, stressed the importance of culture as a key driver for the social advancement of young people, particularly through the cultural industries that are flourishing in many countries.
In response to an oral question on “the importance of the cultural issue in public policies” presented by the Moroccan Labor Union group in the Council of Advisors, the Minister explained that culture “can be a solution to many problems related to employment, especially in light of the challenges facing some professions as a result of technological development.”
Mr. Bensaid pointed out that cultural industries contribute to the creation of new jobs, particularly in the fields of artificial intelligence and the video game industry, which have begun to attract scientific professions and are witnessing remarkable development in the Kingdom.
The Minister called for the involvement of all stakeholders to promote culture, stressing that the Ministry is coordinating between different government sectors within the framework of linking culture to public policies.
Mr. Bensaid emphasized the importance of the role of elected local councils in regions and municipalities in protecting cultural heritage and engaging in cultural industry workshops by implementing local projects that have a positive impact on the economic and social situation and meet the expectations of citizens, following the example of pioneering international and national experiences.
