The National Union of Education (FNE) has sent a letter to Aziz Akhannouch, the Head of Government, calling for a supplementary allowance for teachers and the implementation of the December 10 and 26, 2023 agreements.
- A monthly net supplementary allowance of 500 dirhams for primary and secondary school teachers and specialized staff. This is in accordance with the government’s commitment in the December 26, 2023 agreement.
- Implementation of point four of the December 10, 2023 agreement. This point calls for the granting of a special allowance of 500 dirhams per month to administrative assistants and technical assistants who have been integrated into the teaching assistants’ corps, starting from January 1, 2024.
The FNE stressed the need for the government and the ministry responsible for education to commit to the contents of the agreements at all levels. The union emphasized that the importance of social agreements lies in the extent to which the government commits to implementing them, which raises the level of trust between the two parties to social negotiations and helps to solve accumulated problems.
This letter comes in light of the protests in the sector of national education, primary education, and sports, which culminated in the signing of the December 10 and 26, 2023 agreements with the most representative education unions and the government under the supervision of the Head of Government.
The union has followed up on the post-signing, ratification, and regulatory texts of the agreements. It has stated that the government’s commitment to implementing the agreements will strengthen trust between the two parties to social negotiations and contribute to solving the accumulated problems in the sector of national education.
