In the early hours of this morning, Royal Gendarmerie units in the Bensouda area successfully dismantled a criminal network specialized in copper wire theft. The operation led to the arrest of two suspects caught in the act, as well as a third individual suspected of being the main buyer of the stolen goods.
According to information obtained by Fes News, the operation followed precise field investigations and surveillance of suspicious movements, after repeated targeting of electrical and telephone networks in the area, causing significant material damage and disruption to essential services.
The early morning raid resulted in the arrest of the two main suspects in possession of quantities of copper wires, along with tools used for cutting and dismantling. Continued investigations also enabled authorities to identify a third suspect believed to act as a commercial intermediary, purchasing stolen copper and reselling it on the black market. He was subsequently apprehended.
The three suspects have been placed in police custody for the purposes of the judicial investigation, conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, in order to uncover any further extensions of this criminal activity and identify additional accomplices.
This operation is part of the ongoing efforts by the Royal Gendarmerie in Bensouda to combat crime and strengthen public safety, particularly crimes targeting infrastructure and public and private property.

Aux premières heures de ce matin, les éléments de la Gendarmerie royale à Bensouda ont réussi à démanteler un réseau criminel spécialisé dans le vol de câbles en cuivre. Cette opération a permis l’arrestation de deux individus pris en flagrant délit, ainsi que d’un troisième suspecté d’être le principal acheteur des objets volés.
Selon des informations obtenues par Fès News, cette intervention fait suite à des investigations de terrain approfondies et à une surveillance de mouvements suspects, après la répétition d’attaques visant les réseaux électriques et téléphoniques de la zone, causant d’importants dégâts matériels et perturbant certains services essentiels.
La perquisition menée à l’aube a permis l’interpellation des deux principaux suspects en possession de quantités de câbles en cuivre, ainsi que d’outils utilisés pour la coupe et le démantèlement. Les enquêtes ont également permis d’identifier un troisième individu, soupçonné de jouer le rôle d’intermédiaire commercial, achetant le cuivre volé pour le revendre sur le marché noir, avant d’être à son tour arrêté.
Les trois suspects ont été placés en garde à vue dans le cadre de l’enquête judiciaire menée sous la supervision du parquet compétent, afin de déterminer d’éventuelles ramifications de ce réseau et d’identifier d’autres complices.
Cette opération s’inscrit dans le cadre des efforts continus déployés par la Gendarmerie royale à Bensouda pour lutter contre la criminalité et renforcer le sentiment de sécurité, notamment face aux atteintes aux infrastructures et aux biens publics et privés.
