In the context of advancing the comprehensive restructuring of social work services at the decentralized level, the General Directorate of National Security announced, on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, a new list of 17 appointments to leadership positions overseeing the provincial social work services in the cities of Al Hoceima, Safi, Casablanca, Errachidia, Nador, Salé, Oujda, Laayoune, Taza, Fez, Kenitra, Beni Mellal, Dakhla, Tangier, Rabat, Tetouan, and Agadir.

The new appointments involve placing experienced security staff at the heads of the provincial social work services. These personnel were selected from among police employees with extensive experience and who have undergone specialized training courses in managing social work cases. Their task, for the first time, is to simultaneously manage access to the range of social services provided by the Mohammed VI Social Works Foundation for National Security employees as well as the mutual medical and therapeutic benefits offered by the Fraternal Association for Joint Cooperation and the National Security Employees’ Orphanage.

Previously, the General Directorate of National Security launched an integrated process for comprehensive modernization of the departments responsible for police social work. The first phase included the central-level structural reorganization of the Mohammed VI Social Works Foundation for National Security employees, aligned with a strategy serving the management of the new social services system benefiting the police family.

Following this strategic approach, the social work departments were upgraded to provincial social work services established at security directorates and regional and provincial police departments nationwide. These services are centrally linked to the Mohammed VI Social Works Foundation and tasked locally with implementing social and mutual aid programs, ensuring that all police employees and their families benefit.

Through these recent appointments, the General Directorate aims to create a new dynamic in social work benefiting the National Security family, focusing on the universal provision of public social service packages offered by the Mohammed VI Social Works Foundation. This is within a modern and interactive administrative framework able to meet the challenge of making social work a motivating factor for police employees to excel in protecting national security and citizens.
