Rabat, Morocco – Morocco’s weather is expected to undergo a significant shift in the coming days, as the country is anticipated to be affected by marine air masses originating from the west. This will lead to a noticeable drop in temperatures, resulting in mild to relatively cool weather, which is below the usual climatic averages for this time of year.
Mild Weather and Rain Showers
This shift is expected to begin at the end of the current week and extend into the start of the next week. During the day, temperatures will range between 26 and 30 degrees Celsius on the northern and central coasts, as well as in the inland areas and the Souss region. Nighttime temperatures will drop to between 18 and 24 degrees Celsius, creating pleasant to cool evening conditions.
In contrast, the southeastern regions are expected to maintain relatively high temperatures compared to the rest of the kingdom.
The weather is also anticipated to experience a seasonal disturbance, with the formation of thunderous cumulonimbus clouds that may bring strong and locally heavy rain showers. This is expected to occur from Saturday to Sunday over the Middle and High Atlas regions, gradually moving towards the Rif and Saiss regions between Sunday and Monday.
Concerns Over Hail
While current forecasts do not indicate any imminent heatwaves in the next ten days, weather experts hope that the expected thunderstorms will be free of hail, which could cause damage to agricultural crops, especially olive trees that are at a critical stage of fruit ripening.
