Security forces at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca successfully arrested two Canadian nationals, aged 19 and 32, in the early hours of Tuesday, July 22, on suspicion of involvement in an international drug trafficking case.
The suspects were detained immediately upon their arrival on a flight from Toronto, Canada. A thorough security inspection of their luggage revealed a total of 133.655 kilograms of cannabis, commonly known as “marijuana.”
The two individuals have been placed under judicial custody pending an ongoing investigation conducted by the Casablanca Judicial Police Department under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office. The investigation aims to uncover the international networks linked to this criminal activity.
This operation is part of the intensified efforts by the Directorate General of National Security to combat international drug trafficking and psychoactive substances, ensuring the security and safety of the country from such organized crimes.
