New Appointments in National Security Positions to Enhance Operational Efficiency

As part of the ongoing implementation of the strategy to promote rotation in leadership positions and open opportunities for experienced and young talents to take on security management responsibilities, the General Directorate of National Security announced on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, a series of new appointments in decentralized security departments across several Moroccan cities, including Oujda, Khemisset, Errachidia, Rabat, Touisset Boubker, Marrakech, Youssoufia, and Casablanca.

The appointments, approved by the Director General of National Security Abdelatif Hammouchi, include 11 new leadership positions. Among them is the appointment of the Deputy Wali of Security in Oujda, and three police district chiefs in Khemisset, Casablanca, and Rabat. Additionally, a head of the Traffic Accidents Department in Khemisset, a head of the Judicial Police Unit in Youssoufia, and a head of an administrative annex affiliated with one of the security zones in Casablanca were appointed.

The appointments also involved placing security cadres at the helm of several decentralized uniformed police units, including the appointment of the Urban Authority Chief in Touisset Boubker, two heads of Traffic Police Units in Errachidia and Marrakech, and the head of the Mobile Unit for Public Order Maintenance in Oujda.

These appointments come within a continuous dynamic aimed at improving the efficiency and productivity of police human resources by facilitating rotation in leadership roles and entrusting the field management of police facilities to highly trained and qualified security professionals capable of implementing operational plans designed to enhance citizen security and safeguard property.
