In a strong match held on Sunday at Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca, the Nigerian women’s national team defeated their Tunisian counterparts 3-0 in the opening game of Group B at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Morocco 2024, which runs until July 26.
The Nigerian goals were scored by Asisat Oshoala in the 4th minute, Rinsola Babajide in the 45+1st minute, and Chinwendu Ihezuo in the 84th minute.
With this victory, Nigeria tops Group B with 3 points, while Tunisia remains at the bottom with zero points.
In the same group, Botswana faces Algeria at Père Jégo Stadium in Casablanca.
For the second matchday, Nigeria will play against Botswana next Thursday at 8:00 PM, while Tunisia will take on Algeria at 5:00 PM.
