From the Communication Unit of Fez Police Headquarters (Without Modification)
Fact-Checking Statement
The Casablanca Police Headquarters has reacted with utmost seriousness to a video clip circulating on social media platforms, accompanied by a commentary alleging that two students disappeared under suspicious circumstances in front of their educational institution in the Rahma area of Casablanca.
The data recorded in the registers held by the National Security services has revealed that the matter concerns a female student and her brother who attend the same educational institution. They were the subject of a missing persons report filed by their family before the investigations and inquiries conducted in this case led to their discovery in a public park in the city of Berrechid yesterday, Friday.
The investigative procedures carried out have confirmed that this case has no criminal suspicion whatsoever and is not linked to any criminal motive. This conclusion was reached after it became clear that the two minors, aged 14 and 16, whose disappearance was reported, had left the family home due to personal reasons related to their studies.
While the Casablanca Police Headquarters is keen to clarify these facts, it reiterates its serious and positive engagement with issues of security concern raised by the media.
