Moroccan-Korean Agreement to Enhance Sustainable Transport in Rabat through Electric Buses

In a move that reflects the commitment to enhancing sustainable transport and achieving environmental development, the City Council of Rabat has signed a cooperation agreement with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) aimed at acquiring environmentally friendly electric buses, with a total value of 13 million dollars.

The agreement was signed on the Korean side by the regional director of KOICA, Ms. Hyo Won Cho, while the Moroccan side was represented by the Mayor of Rabat, Ms. Fatiha Moudani. This project is part of efforts to develop urban transport infrastructure in the Moroccan capital and reduce carbon emissions, in line with national strategies in clean energy and sustainable development.

The electric buses are expected to contribute to improving the quality of public transport services in Rabat by offering a more efficient mode of transport that meets environmental standards, enhancing the city’s appeal and responding to the mobility needs of its residents in the context of modern urban transportation.
