On Monday morning, February 10, police officers at the Rabat Security Directorate, in coordination with the General Directorate of National Surveillance, arrested a 23-year-old man on suspicion of being involved in cases related to drugging, causing material damage to private property, and threatening to commit a felony.
The security intervention followed a tip-off that the suspect, who was in an unnatural state, was causing chaos and damage to a number of cars parked on the public street in Rabat’s “El Bareed” neighborhood, which necessitated the intervention of police patrols to arrest him.
During the arrest, the suspect offered violent resistance and threatened to use a white weapon and set fire to a gas bottle, which was documented in a video that was circulated on social media.
As a result of the investigations, the suspect was arrested and subjected to judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecution, with the aim of determining all the circumstances of the case and uncovering all the criminal acts attributed to him.
