The Health and Social Protection Delegation in Boulemane Province organized a multi-specialty medical caravan in Ait Kermouss village, part of the Anjil territorial community in the Boulemane district, on Thursday, December 19, 2024. This initiative was part of the “Care 2024/2025” operation and implemented as part of the action program aimed at mitigating the effects of cold and frost waves in at-risk areas.
The caravan featured a comprehensive medical team including specialists in cardiology, pulmonology, pediatrics, and obstetrics and gynecology, as well as general practitioners, nursing staff, and administrative personnel. This initiative received support and coordination from the Regional Directorate of Health and Social Protection in the Fez-Meknes region, provincial and local authorities, the Provincial Directorate of National Education and Sports, and the local association “Hope Makers for Development and Solidarity” in Ait Kermouss.
The caravan witnessed a large turnout from the area’s residents, with 508 people benefiting from medical examinations, including 184 specialized medical examinations and 324 general medical examinations. Additionally, 368 nursing examinations and screenings were conducted for various diseases such as breast and cervical cancer, vision tests, blood pressure measurements, and blood sugar level checks. Furthermore, 16 ultrasound imaging procedures and 16 electrocardiograms were performed.
The services were not limited to medical examinations alone but also included organizing health awareness sessions that benefited 136 individuals. As part of the school health program, 68 toothpaste tubes and toothbrushes were distributed to school students.
This initiative was highly appreciated by the local population who benefited from medical and nursing examinations, as well as receiving necessary medications free of charge. This medical caravan emphasizes the importance of bringing health services closer to citizens, especially in remote areas, and enhancing disease prevention and early detection, thus contributing to improving the overall health of the population and reducing the burden on fixed health facilities.
